Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has helped launch a new charity campaign to donate unwanted clothes in Liverpool.
The 23-year old actress, helped introduce the new Marks & Spencer ‘One Day Wardrobe Clearout’ event in partnership with Oxfam, in the city centre.
Dressed in a tan long sleeved shift dress and nude court heels, the petite blonde delivered two huge bags full of her old fashion outfits.
Jorgie, who plays Theresa McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, assisted staff and chatted happily with customers posing for pictures.
The clearout event was created after M&S called on its customers to donate 500,000 unwanted or unused clothes and accessories to its stores, following research that shows charities lose out on £1.5billion in revenue a year as 391million clothes are thrown away every year.
All donations will help significantly reduce the amount of clothing going to landfill sites and raise crucial funds for Oxfam.
Julie Ridley, Liverpool M&S store manager, said: “It’s clear that far too many clothes still go to landfill when they could be making money for charities and helping the environment.“
“We’re calling on our customers to donate their clothes: it’s an easy way to make a difference and you get a great M&S money-off voucher.”
