Former Hollyoaks babe Melissa Walton says she is the "luckiest girl in the world" after revealing that she is engaged.
The actress, 20, recently returned from a romantic break in Rome where her soldier boyfriend Ryan Wells popped the question.
The blonde bombshell, who played pole dancer Loretta Jones in the C4 soap, announced the happy news via her Twitter page.
Ecstatic Melissa tweeted: "Just back from Rome it was INCREDIBLE, saw so many amazing sights, I was a proper tourist me! Map in hand all the way! Loved it!!
"AND...... I have some huge HUGE news. Huge!!!!!
"I'm engaged !!!!!! Never been so happy in my whole life !! Keep remembering and squealing like a little girl !! x x x
Melissa, who was one of 16 characters axed from Hollyoaks in a cast cull by executive producer Paul Marquess earlier this year, added: "Couldn't actually get any happier or giddier right now!!!!!
"Was soooooooooooo romantic...feel like a princess, luckiest girl in the world x
"Keep doing happy/crazy/insane woman dance when he isn't looking...hopefully if he catches me doing it he won't change his mind."
According to sources close to the couple, Royal Marine Ryan has recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan.
Melissa will now have time to plan her wedding having made her final appearance in the Chester based soap in July.
The decision to axe Melissa's character stemmed from the fact Marquess felt he had nowhere to take the character after one of her major storylines had to be pulled.
Loretta was supposed to be revealed as a child killer living under a new identity, but after complaints from James Bulger's mother Denise Fergus, the story line was scrapped.
