The lead singer of Liverpool band The Zutons has appeared in court accused of breaking a man’s nose during a row outside a city nightclub.
Dave McCabe, of Vale Road, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court accused of headbutting Peter Appleby outside the Korova nightclub in February 2010
The 29-year-old denied breaking a man's nose and enetered a plea of not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Formed in 2001, the Scouse indie rock band achieved big hits with "Valerie" and "Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?" taken from their highly acclaimed album, Tired of Hanging Around, which was released in 2006.
Musicians Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson, later covered "Valerie" and took the song to number 2 in 2007.
McCabe was granted unconditional bail until his trial on September 20.
