Coronation Street is "going Hollyoaks" when Kevin Webster beds newlywed Molly on a dirty weekend... in the city of Chester.
Kevin and 24-year-old Molly Dobbs, played by Vicky Binns, originally got it together after becoming close during training for a fun run.
Then Kevin, 44, alias actor Michael Le Vell, and Molly, decided to call it off fearing their illicit love would hurt their other halves.
But locals in Chester - home to the C4 series Hollyoaks - have witnessed Kevin and Molly shooting new steamy scenes in the city.
Romantic sequences were filmed at Chester Railway Station, The Queen Hotel at a riverside beauty spot
The affair began when Molly, who wed in January, felt neglected by her new husband Tyrone (Alan Halsall).
Molly fell for mature Kevin's love interest and the two were soon sharing passionate clinches.
Le Vell, who has played mechanic Kevin Webster for over 25 years, was at first amazed when Corrie script-writers decided father-of-two Kev should have an affair with Tyrone's young wife.
Said Michale: "I was just a bit shocked at first. I wasn’t sure whether Kevin would do it to Tyrone.
"I wasn’t too happy, but I wasn’t too disappointed. I was a bit confused, really, because it was like 'Would Kevin really do that?’
“But then I thought, ‘Get on with it. It’s soap opera. Of course people do that.’ These things do happen in real life."
The episodes filmed in Chester are expected to be aired in October.
A Coronation Street spokesman said: "We had to choose a location away from Coronation Street and Chester was it this time.
"It fitted a remit for the storyline."
