BritWeek has kicked off in L.A. celebrating all things British and recognising the cultural contribution that the UK has made to Tinseltown.
The festival, which opened with a fish and chip buffet also includes a Tony Blair Gala Dinner, Jeff Beck live at the El Rey Theatre and an LA Galaxy celebrity soccer match pitching Britain vs the Rest of the World.
Clocked have tapped up their L.A. connection to bring us the best stories from the red carpet and interviews with the best of British living in Los Angeles.
Britweek is the brainchild of 'Nasty' Nigel Lythgoe and will also include 'grass roots' activites such as a 'Britwalk' and a city wide darts tournament at LA's English pubs.
Infamous Popstars judge Nigel is now in charge of American Idol with Simon Cowell on the talent panel and boasts that the top US TV shows over the past six years have all been adapted from UK formats.
He said: "We are so inspirational in this town that I thought we should really do a Brit week to give people a chance to celebrate and it grows every year.
"I love the fact that they embrace success here.
"In terms of television, Britain has created the top television programmes in America for the past six years, which is phenomenal.
"When you think American Idol, Survivor, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Dancing with the Stars, they're all British-created programme formats.
"After that, the movies, the music, the fashion and now with David Beckham, sport. Britain's brought a great deal to Los Angeles and is in truth the biggest investor in Southern California."
