Social landlord Riverside has been short-listed for Strictly Regeneration Awards.
Organised by Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder NewHeartlands, the awards recognise the excellence and diversity of regeneration projects on Merseyside and the individual and collective contribution they are making to the renaissance of the region.
Riverside tenant Barbara Hardwick is a finalist in the Best Neighbour Award while the organisation's Values Statement is up for the Best Practice in Partnership Award.
Barbara Hardwick is described as a valuable member of Peel Road Community and Residents Association, which also worked with Riverside and Sefton Equalities Partnership to develop the Values Statement.
The statement has been designed to encourage community spirit in the Peel Knowsley neighbourhood of Bootle by promoting social inclusion and celebrating diversity.
Tom McGuire, Divisional Director of Riverside, said: “We have an excellent track record at the Strictly Regeneration Awards.
"In the last three years we have been shortlisted for no less than 11 awards, four of which we went on to win and six for which we were highly commended.
"These latest two are further testimony to our commitment to work with excellent community representatives to help them revitalise their neighbourhoods.”
Liverpool-based Riverside is one of the leading social housing and regeneration organisations in England, owning or managing around 50,000 homes with 2,000 staff and a turnover of more than £180million.
Its record of achievement dates back to our inception as Liverpool Improved Houses in 1928.
It provides sheltered and supported housing for elderly, homeless and vulnerable people, in addition to general needs affordable properties for rent and shared ownership.
It also invests in community projects, from youth engagement schemes aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour, to credit union grants tackling financial exclusion.
