Staff from Liverpool charity Health@Work (H@W) took part in a cookery training day to mark the beginning of their new healthy eating campaign in Liverpool.

H@W has joined forces with culinary trainers Can Cook to promote healthy eating and diets in Liverpool’s workplaces.

Together the organisations will be delivering joint road shows through the city and demonstrating how easy it is to make tasty and healthy meals.

As part of the campaign H@W and Can Cook will be offering corporate packages to organisations and workplaces to have their own cookery challenge and training day, promoting healthy diets and exercise through the workplace.

During the cookery training day with H@W, Can Cook staff demonstrated different cooking techniques. H@W employees were then split into four teams and had their cooking skills put to the test as they competed to make the tastiest dish.

Robbie Davidson, Can Cook Director said: "The Health@Work teambuilding day was fantastic day - one of our best so far.

"The day marks the beginning of a healthy eating campaign in Liverpool which we hope will bring about positive changes in the way people approach food and their diet.”

"Keith Gorman from Health@Work said: “We all had a great time at the training day and are looking forward to working with Can Cook on our healthy eating campaign.

"Poor diet is a major issue in Liverpool, with surveys* estimating that food related ill health costs the city more than £45millon per year.

We hope that this scheme will help counteract this, encouraging Liverpool workers to eat more healthily.”
