Keeping an eye on security is important in the run-up to Christmas and residents are being encouraged to count-down to the big day through an online advent calendar from Merseyside Police.
The calendar, which has been funded by Citysafe, Liverpool's Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, is designed to be a fun and festive way of reminding people how to stay safe in the run up to Christmas.
Users can see the calendar at www.merseyside.police.uk/advent. There's a different message behind each window including crime prevention advice, what neighbourhood teams are doing to celebrate and information on festive fun in the City.
Superintendent Graham Yip said: "With the hustle and bustle of preparing for Christmas, it's easy to forget the simple things, but it's important to remember to keep your home and your self safe. Being a victim of crime is awful at anytime, but the impact can often be greater at Christmas, particularly if gifts are stolen.
"We're hoping the advent calendar will get the whole family involved in learning about crime prevention, capturing kids imaginations, while the adults take on board the advice. We'll be working hard to keep the residents of Liverpool safe, and with a few quick, simple steps, they can help to secure themselves and their belongings, making it a safe and happy Christmas for everyone."
To today's door go to www.merseyside.police.uk/advent, and think-on to visit every day until Christmas Eve.
