Merseyside’s internationally-acclaimed Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust has appointed a new chief executive.

The specialist neurosciences centre has recruited Dr Liz Mear from the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals, where she was director of human resources and organisational development.

She said: “I am delighted and very proud to take the helm of The Walton Centre.
“The Trust’s reputation is first class and I am looking forward to playing a part in providing the best possible care for patients.”

Dr Liz previously worked as a chief executive in 2006, at Greater Manchester West NHS Foundation Trust.

She has also worked as a senior management consultant, specialising in public sector business performance improvement and change management.
