Thousands of Merseysiders are being invited to have their say at a hospital event which aims to improve the quality of services.
University Hospital Aintree is run by a Foundation Trust, with elected Governors representing a total of 12,000 members.
Governors are holding a ‘listening event’ at 7pm on Monday 13th September in the Clinical Sciences Centre at University Hospital Aintree.
The Governors want to use the meeting to highlight key issues to be addressed by the Trust management. The evening is free, and open to all Foundation Trust members – members of the public can join as members on the night.
Lead Governor, Pam Peel, said: “Aintree is already a good hospital – we want to make it great.
"We believe that this can best be achieved by listening to what our members tell us because they are the ones who use services day in, day out.
“It might be something big, or it might be something small. Lots of things which are suggested can be done quickly and easily, but make a big difference to patients and visitors.
“We’ll be using this event to report back to members on how we took actions forward, and also focusing on the quality of services and the patients’ experiences when they use Aintree.”
Improved car parking at the hospital was a key point from the last listening event. This has been addressed through a £8 million, 1,250-space multi-storey car park at the hospital, which opened in June.
Foundation Trust members also took part in workshop sessions to help design patient systems for the hospital’s new £34 million Elective Care Centre, which holds day surgery and outpatient services.
