Online companies asked to do their bit for Comic Relief

Comic Relief organisers are asking online media companies to do their part and donate banner space in a bid to recruit members of the public to take part in the event.

Companies with ad space are being urged to follow our ClickLiverpool halo and good example by donating banners up to and including next Firday, March 13.

The space will be used to run Red Nose Day banners and attract fundraisers in the hope Comic Relief can beat last year's multi-million pound target.

In 2007 the charity raised £67m for projects in Africa and the UK to tackle extreme poverty.

But, much of the fundraising relied on the generosity of businesses to help cover costs, which included the donation of online inventory and editorial space to whip up public support.
