
Radio City Local Heroes Awards- James Barton 'Business Person Of The Year'
Cream CEO James Barton was awarded 'Business Person Of The Year' at the Radio City Local Heroes Awards this week.
The awards which are voted for by the public are one of the cities most coveted ceremonies and held to honour people in the community who inspire and support others.
James was delighted to receive his award in recognition of his homegrown, but internationally recognised Cream brand.
He said: "It's always an honour to receive recognition for your work, but we at Cream are especially grateful for this as its from the people of our hometown Liverpool. Thank you!"
Other award winners included Paul McCartney who sent a video message in acceptance of his award for Contribution to Music which was accepted on his behalf by Council Leader Warren Bradley.
The annual awards which took place on Tuesday night, recognised some of Merseyside's true Local Heroes at a moving star studded awards ceremony at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool city centre.
A host of soap stars, sporting stars and their partners supported one of Liverpool's most glittering occasions.
Among the guests at the event attended by over 1200 people were Jeremy Kyle, Sheree Murphy, Rafa and Montse Benitez, Fernando Torres, David Moyes, Matt Littler and Darren Jeffries, Terri Dwyer, Mikel Arteta, and Olympic boxer David Price.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by Lemar, Leon Jackson, Animal, Cahill and Radio City comedian John Bishop.
The ceremony, which is organised by Liverpool's Radio City 96.7 was hosted by City Talk presenter Phil Easton and Radio City breakfast presenter Simon Ross.
Radio City 96.7 Station Director Richard Maddock said "Radio City's Local Heroes Awards are always a truly humbling event.
"Thanks to the support from Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank it is great to be able to recognise ordinary people along side local celebrities who have done extraordinary things to make a difference to people's lives.
