Rensburg Sheppards Investment Management is adopting the new name of "Investec Wealth & Investment

The change follows positive feedback from staff across the business about the Investec brand, subsequent to the full acquisition last year of Rensburg Sheppards by Investec plc.

The firm sys that despite the name change its our core philosophy and approach - to offer clients a bespoke personal service of the highest quality ­­- will remain absolutely at the heart of the business.

The company says: "Part of a financially strong FTSE 100 group since June 2010, when Rensburg Sheppards became fully part of Investec, our investment managers can now look forward to the additional benefit of a very well-regarded and supported brand.

"For clients and employees alike, this marks a significant and exciting development."

Commenting on the move, Jonathan Wragg, UK Chief Executive of Investec Wealth & Investment said:“The name Investec Wealth & Investment will be synonymous with the enduring values and modern methods that have allowed our business to thrive over many years.

"We’ve been a constant presence in the city of Liverpool since 1873, making us one of the city’s longest established and largest investment managers and our rebrand to Investec Wealth and Investment marks a new and very exciting chapter in our story”.

Investec Wealth & Investment offers wealth management and investment services to private individuals, charities, friendly societies, trusts and professionals advising these clients.

It has over 600 staff located at its 11 regional offices in Belfast, Cheltenham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Farnham, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Reigate and Sheffield and has a history of investment management stretching back to 1827.

In the UK, IW&I is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

IW&I is part of Investec, the FTSE100 specialist bank and asset manager listed on the LSE and JSE. At 31 March 2011, Investec had assets under management of £88.9 billion.

In the UK, the former Rensburg Sheppards business had assets under management at the same date of £12.7 billion.
