The Clatterbridge centre for Oncology, one of the largest cancer centre charities in the UK, has announced that it has reached its fund raising target of #1 million.

The money raised by the centre has now been invested in offering up to date treatment, supporting vital research, treating patients with the latest equipment and providing support services that would otherwise be unavailable.

The centre is the only charity directly raising funds for Clatterbridge cancer patients across Merseyside.

The charity also has big ambitions for next year, and will be announcing a number of new fund raising appeals over the coming months.

Head of Fundraising Marie Turnbull added: “We couldn’t have achieved what we have without the support of everyone who has donated or volunteered for the charity.

“On behalf of our patients, past, present and future, thank you.”
