Liverpool based, Craft Tailoring, has beaten off stiff competition to make the short list of a national competition to find Britain’s best small business.
The Small Business Local Legends competition, run by smallbusiness.co.uk and supported by small business insurance provider Insurantz.com, seeks to identify the SMEs which encapsulate the true spirit of entrepreneurship within their local communities
Local tailoring specialist, Craft Tailoring, has been running for over 3 decades and is among six finalists chosen from around the country by a panel of judges. Business owner, Walter Smith, admits to being a tailoring evangelist and has built up a hard earned reputation among the local community.
Walter Smith, of Craft Tailoring, said: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted in this competition and to be recognised for the hard work and effort we have put into building and maintaining the business over the years.
“We treat every suit we make as a walking advert for the business, and consequently we get a lot of word-of-mouth custom. Most of our customers are top captains of industry in the Merseyside area, but we also get plenty of people much further afield.”
Voting for the Local Legends competition ends 29th Jan 2010, and you can go online at www.smallbusiness.co.uk to support Craft Tailoring as your ‘local legend’.
James Pickering, managing director of Insurantz.com, said: “It was a tough job being one of smallbusiness.co.uk judging panel. So many of the businesses nominated demonstrated long term ability to thrive and shine in what have been tough trading conditions for any business. Craft Tailoring impressed the judges with the longevity of their business as well as their passion for providing an excellent service.”
Marc, Barber, editor of SmallBusiness.co.uk, said: “Given the number of companies entering this competition, it’s quite an achievement to make the final shortlist. Over the years, each company has shown that it has what it takes to build customer loyalty in its local community and adapt to changing market conditions. ”
