Liverpool store relies on European imports for vital snow supplies

Liverpool businesses desperate for icy weather supplies in the midst of the coldest spell for decades have been forced to look to European efficiency to keep their shelves stocked.

As the nation battles arctic snowfalls and sub-zero temperatures, customers seeking vital equipment to cope with the conditions have been left floundering as stores quickly sold out of snow shovels and grit.

Liverpool based home store Taskers DIY has been forced to scour suppliers throughout Europe, in order to secure a shipment of 500 snow shovels from Germany.

In a bid to assist customers facing treacherous conditions, the DIY giant have dismissed the chance to cash in on the cold snap, instead offering the shovels at a budget £9.99 to help customers combat the potentially deadly downfall.

Taskers Managing Director, John Tasker, said: "We always try and give something back and help our customers so to be able to use our buying power to find shovels and offer them cheaply seemed the right thing to do as so many people are struggling with the conditions."

The shovels are on shelf now at Taskers’ Aintree and Wavertree stores. For directions visit www.taskersonline.com
