The opening ceremony might have been held in London on Friday but South Liverpool Homes (SLH) gave it a run for its money when staff held their very own opening ceremony.
Team GB day was held on Friday 27 July to mark the opening of the Olympics as well as showing support for the home team.
Not only were staff decorated in red, white and blue the office and the environmental vans were also adorned with the national colours. A charity Team GB themed cake sale raised money for Help for Heroes, SLH’s chosen charity.
Chief Executive Julie Fadden said “the Olympics are a special time for this country, giving a much needed boost to our economy. Our staff wanted to celebrate so came up with the idea of Team GB day. These kind of events are what make SLH a special place to work, we believe that if our staff have fun it will show through in the services we deliver to customers.”
Celebrating the Olympics doesn’t stop here. Through its summer activity programme for young people, SLH in partnership with Everton in the Community, will be holding an Olympic sports camp. You never know, the Olympic stars of the future could be spotted right here!
