Liverpool’s locally owned salon chain Voodou have been shortlisted for two prestigious national hairdressing awards.

The awards, Creative Head’s Most Wanted and Hairdressers Journal’s British Hairdressing Business Awards, will take place in September.

The categories Voodou have been shortlisted for are Best Online Salon and Website of the Year.

Rob Webb, Voodou’s Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for two of the biggest awards in the industry.

"All of the hard work we have put in to the new website has really paid off, and now we are crossing all of our fingers and toes hoping that we make it all the way.”

Both competitions will judge Voodou’s website as well as taking into account the other social media platforms they use, to communicate with their clients.

Rob added: “We are all very proud of the number of fans Voodou hold on Facebook.

“We currently stand at over 14,000 likes, which is more than any other salon in the world I’m told.

"Facebook is an important way for us to talk to our target audience and keep them updated on the latest trends, celebrity styles and goings on within the salons.

"It also gives us a place to hold competitions like our search for the face of Voodou Jnr which has been really successful.

“Our next step is to launch our brand new mobile phone app which will be ready at the end of this month.

"The app is a way to keep clients up to date on our latest offers, discounts and services and includes links to our website and Facebook.

"It’s something we have been thinking about doing for a while and now it’s happening we’re all really excited.”
