Sun seekers will be spoiled for choice this summer as Ryanair announced two more Spanish destinations from Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.
Holidaymakers will now be able to travel to Barcelona and Almeria as part of the budget airline's Liverpool 2012 summer schedule.
There will be a daily flight to Barcelona's main El Prat airport in addition to current flights to the Reus airport just outside the city.
Flights to the holiday resort Almeria will run twice-weekly on Thursday and Sunday.
Seats on the new flights go on sale today and fares start from £29.99 one way.
The extra holiday spots will bring the number of Ryanair routes from Liverpool to 40, confirming its position as one of the biggest operators at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport.
Other routes from Liverpool provided by the airline include Kos, Ibiza and Milan Bergamo.
Ryanair's Maria Macken said: “Our new routes from Liverpool will start from March 25 and operate throughout the summer giving passengers in the North West even more choice when booking their summer getaway.”
Liverpool JLA spokesman Robin Tudor was happy to see the extra routes added.
He said: “Liverpool is Ryanair's second largest base in the UK after Stansted so it is great news for the region.
“It is fantastic for holidaymakers, not just in Liverpool but also across the country.
“Almeria is a popular summer resort and it is great that passengers can now fly into Barcelona's main aiport for the perfect city break.”
The self-proclaimed “world's favourite airline” operates over 1,500 flights per day across 160 destinations.
Ryanair also expect to carry 75 millions passengers this year.
