A Liverpool-region telecoms company is hooking up with online trading giant Amazon.
Telecoms supplier DST UK Ltd is one of a handful of UK traders who have been invited to help pilot a new faster and more convenient payment method for Amazon customers .
The Bromborough, Wirral, based firm is one of just 27 partners in the UK that have been selected to trial Checkout by Amazon.
The new system will enable purchasers to pay securely using their existing Amazon account details.
DST UK ’s founder Dave Solomon says the opportunity came about as a result of the firm’s close working relationship with Amazon dating back to 2007, through which they already generate around 40,000 sales per year.
"Over the last 10 years we’ve built up a very strong online business selling a wide range of phone systems for the domestic and small business market, " says Solomon, whose company currently turns over in excess of £3m a year and employs around 10 staff.
"This partnership means we can now offer this convenient new payment method to customers from our own website; www.home-phones.co.uk.
"All customers, whether they’re buying from a website or over the counter, want a good product range and competitive prices and we make sure we offer that.
"But for online sales, a fast, simple and secure payment method is equally vital.
"I think the safety and convenience of Checkout by Amazon is going to be a major boost to our online business and the feedback from customers already is extremely positive.
"We know that, because we’re one of those rare creatures, an online retailer that you can also ring up and talk to!"
Amazon are preparing for the national rollout of the new service this month with a major online marketing campaign.
DST UK Ltd are getting fully behind the launch with an across the board offer of free delivery on all phones purchased using Checkout by Amazon.
