Restaurateurs Patrick Smith and Jonathan Poole, the casual dining operators behind successful independent, Salt House Tapas in Liverpool have announced their second project.
Hanover Street Social that will also be owner-operated by Smith and Poole's vehicle Red & Blue Restaurants has launched following almost a year of planning.
Described by Smith as "a one hundred and twenty-cover French Brasserie combining a New York and London feel," Hanover Street Social is much anticipated following the success of Salt House Tapas.
In spite of his long career having worked around the world, Smith points to recent influences of the past few years in thinking about what people will enjoy.
Locally and nationally, Red & Blue Restaurants has been ascribed 'counter culture' status for their interpretation of tapas with commentators expecting a similar thread running through their new venture.
In response, Smith says: "Hanover Street Social is a French brasserie that happens to be in Liverpool run by a home-grown team, although there will be some strong brasserie touches alongside an urban, warehouse feel.
Smith expects Hanover Street Social's target market to vary according to the time of the day.
He added: "Specifically, we're hoping to capture the city at breakfast time and afternoon tea as well as boost the Sunday brunch market.
"Hanover Street Social will provide a great place for everyone whether it be family meals out for celebrations or a business breakfast."
Additional features include Tom Dixon light fittings, a hundred square metres of Metro-style tiles, luxurious leather bar stools perched alongside the venue's 11metre bar with capacity for 30 plus character furniture in abundance.
