Liverpool based interiors retailer, The Home Quarter, celebrated a new relationship with its charity partner of the year with the Marina Dalglish Appeal.

The launch was held at The Home Quarter with an Exclusive Shopping Event, the first of many planned to raise much needed funds for the charity and the amazing work it does. Liverpool FC manager Kenny Dalglish and his wife Marina joined guests at the interior design shopping complex situated in Liverpool ONE on Thursday evening.

Guests at the exclusive shopping event were treated to canapés and champagne as they browsed five floors of international interior design. Marina and the Home Quarter’s Nicola Orrell were charged with drawing the raffle; the prizes included a five star holiday to Mauritius donated by luxury travel agent Kuoni as well as a limited edition pendant designed by Boodles for Marina Dalglish. Kenny Dalglish was also on hand to sign copies of his autobiography.

For every purchase made on the evening, The Home Quarter donated 10% of the purchase value directly to the Marina Dalglish Appeal; furthermore 10% of any other purchases until the 31st August will also be donated to the charity when producing the donation card given to each guest.

Alastair Bailey, Managing Director of The Home Quarter said: “We are delighted to have chosen the Marina Dalglish Appeal as our charity partner of the year. It is a cause we feel strongly about and are happy to support the Appeal as much as we can. We’re very much looking forward to working with Marina and her team and are especially enthusiastic about announcing our exciting fundraising strategy.’”

The Marina Dalglish Appeal is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research and treatment. Marina herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2003; which of course had a dramatic effect on her and her family. Fortunately, with the help of a wonderful team of doctors, nurses, oncologists and carers, Marina was able to fight the disease. Without their skill and dedication, love and support, Marina believes she could not have come through the ordeal. It is because of this, Marina along with her husband Kenny set up the Appeal.

Marina Dalglish, Founder at the Marina Dalglish Appeal said: “Kenny and I have been constantly amazed at how much time, effort and money you have all been willing to donate, and we realize that nothing would be possible without your help.

@Thank you all very much and hopefully together we can achieve our new goal.”

The partnership will see The Home Quarter work closely alongside the Marina Dalglish Appeal to raise much needed funds and awareness for the important work the Appeal does.
