Scantec chairman John Robinson has raised more than £3500 for Claire House by completing a gruelling three day charity bike ride.

The Wirral based company has been a long term supporter of Claire House and was thrilled to continue its support for the charity.

Mr Robinson and Tony Morris cycled 157 miles through Whitehaven, Cumbria and Tynemouth.

They cycled for at least 6 hours a day, which saw them having to combat steep terrains and mountain roads.

Mr Robinson said: I trained for 6 months for the ride and we covered a range of different conditions.

“We found it hard at times but Tony Morris and I had a goal and are delighted to have raised this money.

“Claire House does such a tremendous job and it is vital that money is raised to enable it to continue providing care for the 164 children currently accessing Claire House.

“I would like to thank everyone who donated and supported us during the trip.”

Lynn Taylor, Area Fundraiser for Claire House, said: “John has been a fantastic supporter of Claire House and his dedication to raising money is inspiring.

“We rely heavily on the support of the local community and businesses as we receive no guaranteed funding.

“I would like to say a huge thank you, on behalf of Claire House, to John and Tony for their significant contribution.”
