Centric Property Group have acquired a land at Estuary Commerce Park in the South Liverpool International Gateway.

The 4.6 acre site, close to Liverpool Airport, was acquired from Liverpool Vision, acting on behalf of the North West Development Agency.

Centric, advised by Liverpool property agents Mason Owen, bought the land for approximately £1.0 million without bank debt.

They are proposing to construct a £6m speculative development of offices and warehousing.

Mark Coulthurst, of Mason Owen's Business Premises team, said: "In these difficult economic times it is a breath of fresh air to find somebody prepared to speculatively develop commercial property.

"This will be a major boost for the South Liverpool area and we are confident that the quality of the product will generate great demand in the area."

Construction will begin this year on the development, named Estuary Banks, which will incorporate sustainable technology fitted by building contractor Barnfield Construction.

The scheme is to benefit from over £2.535 million of funding from the European Regional Development Fund, and the development will target a range of occupiers including the bio-pharmaceutical and knowledge sectors.
