Liverpool based prosthetics and make-up company, MAKEUPSFX, has been commissioned to make body parts for BBC One’s brand new modern forensic crime series.

The Body Farm, created by Declan Croghan, is a new six-part series for BBC One starring Tara Fitzgerald in the lead role.

Tara plays Eve Lockhart as an exceptional forensic pathologist who leads a brilliant and ambitious team of scientists at a private facility where human remains are donated for scientific experiment. They are called upon by police forces all over the world to provide expert knowledge to help solve crimes.

MAKEUPSFX Workshop and School is one of the UK’s most respected award winning special effects make-up, prosthetics and props companies who have been creating leading edge images for TV and film for over 20 years.

The school based in the heart of Liverpool teaches a 16-week intensive makeup course for those people who are serious about entering the TV, film, bridal fashion and special effects industry.

Director of MAKEUPSFX and Prosthetics Designer, Davy Jones, said: “Body Farm is a 5 month project, which has enabled us to offer work experience for the students.

"Students booked on the course will assist me on the set and gain valuable hands-on experience in the TV industry."

Four of MAKEUPSFX graduate students have also gone on to secure work as prosthetic makers on Monroe (ITV) and Body Farm (BBC).
