Two Liverpool firms have teamed up with charity Age Concern to offer a free seminar on raising cash from your home.
Equity Release schemes are being used by more and more homeowners to take money out of their properties to supplement an inadequate pension or to provide a capital sum for any purpose they wish.
Law firm Maxwell Hodge with financial service provider Parker Kelly and charity Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton are offering advice on how to avoid the rogue schemes out there and find the good equity release packages.
Martin Unsworth from Maxell Hodge said: “There have been a number of horror stories where homeowners have given up equity in their property to receive a pittance in return, however there are good schemes out there, and the free advice we offer should help people avoid the pitfalls.”
The seminar is on Wednesday March 9 at Age Concern’s building, Sir Thomas House, Liverpool. Professionals in the legal and financial services will advise people on everything they need to know on equity release.
Maxwell Hodge is one of the region’s biggest law firms with more than 80 staff operating from offices stretching from Formby to Wirral with a city centre office in the heart of Liverpool’s business district.
