Big hearted businesses in Wirral are backing a charity walk – taking in eight local pubs.
A Gallon Walk around some of the area’s most popular bars and hotels has been organised by West Kirby Chamber of Commerce in aid of the Hoylake Cottage Day Care Appeal.
Participating venues are offering discounts on food and drinks and a treasure hunt with eight prizes has been organised along the way.
The event takes place on Sunday 5th September and organisers are asking companies as well as families and individuals to sign up now. The cost is £10 per adult, £5 for under-18s and free entry for under 12s.
Local firm Lees Solicitors is sponsoring the event as part of their pledge to support Hoylake Cottage this year.
Amanda Cucchi from Lees Solicitors said: “It will be a fun event for all the family, so local business people can bring along their relatives and friends and have a great time while supporting a very worthwhile local cause.”
The walk starts at 11am with bacon sandwiches at the Green Lodge; then goes on for discounted food and drink at the Red Door; The Collingwood; Moby Dick; the Hilbre; Slinkys; Lattetude and finally the Wro for live music and a hog roast.
Hoylake Cottage are appealing for funds to help build a day care centre for older people including those diagnosed with dementia, giving relief to those caring for them at home.
