As we celebrate CALM’s 10th anniversary on Merseyside and enter 2010 – the Year of Health & Wellbeing, please join us for a very special event.
Held at Parr Streets Studio 2, the studio where Coldplay, Barry Manilow, Take That, the Spice Girls, Echo & The Bunnymen and Diana Ross recorded and now converted into an award winning bar / venue, CALM will be hosting an evening for anyone who employs men aged 15-35 and beyond.
In 2009 approx. 15 million work days were lost due to stress. There are 30 working days lost due to depression and anxiety for every single day lost to industrial disputes.
The economic cost in terms of lost productivity is huge - around GBP17bn, or 1.5% of UK gross domestic product.
Depression, anxiety and other forms of mental illness have taken over from unemployment as the greatest social problem in the UK.
Last year CALM surveyed hundreds of Merseyside commuters and found that 50% of local workers felt they have been affected by work-related stress.
But how much can employers be expected to do in supporting workers outside of the business environment?
This event is designed to give employers some easy-to-follow-through ideas and free resources to enable employers to encourage men to get support outside of work and to help them get their heads sorted; meaning you as an employer get better productivity and outcomes.
CALM has been supporting men on Merseyside for over 10 years and is an award winning, highly commended campaign, offering a confidential helpline and web resources to support lads in a no-nonsense and practical way.
