Review: A real treat for the feet with Reflexology home visits from Liverpool-region expert Gill Hayes

After weeks battling the January sales, not to mention battling the 'blues' in the most depressing month of the year, I decided it was time for my mother and I to seek an uplift in our mood.

The perfect remedy to achey feet and a feeling of general malaise? Reflexology. Having tried only a sample session of 20 minutes previously, I called upon the capable hands of Gill Hayes, a qualified homeopathic practitioner based in clinics across Tarporley, Moreton, Ruthin and Willaston.

Gill Hayes has over five years' experience in Homeopathic treatments aimed at encouraging the body to 'heal itself' as opposed to using chemicals to ease our aches and pains.

With a portable treatment chair, relaxing music and convenient home visits on offer to those in the Merseyside, Cheshire and the North Wales area, it couldn't be easier to arrange for Gill to work her magic on you.

So much more than a pedicure or mere foot rub, Gill's tender touch soothed and encouraged complete relaxation, leaving me drifting into a blissful snooze. For a full 50 minute treatment, it feels like a real taste of Heaven.

Self-employed Gill says: "Reflexology is the precise application of pressure to the reflex points of the foot.

"Congestion can be detected in the feet which reflect imbalances in the body.

"The thumbs and fingertips are used to massage and work these points of imbalance which initiates a healing reaction in the affected areas, restoring the flow of vital energy to the whole body.

"Reflexology promotes deep relaxation, easing tension and improving circulation. It brings relief to a wide range of health problems including sleep deprivation and digestive problems."

My mother was similarly impressed with her 50 minute treatment, enthusing that her feet felt pampered in a way she'd never experienced before.

I often suffer from circulation difficulties, with cold toes a regular occurrence but in recent weeks my tootsies have warmed themselves a lot easier since Gill's visit despite the cold weather.

Mother-of-one Gill added: "True homeopathic healing can restore confidence, unblock creativity and help you engage better with your life.

"It was observing the homeopathic treatment of my son who was a severe asthmatic with eczema that inspired me to study homeopathy.

"The transformation of his overall well-being and quality of life was a joy for me as a mother. I initially studied holistic therapies, along with meditation and Reiki, and then went on to study homeopathy and became a qualified practitioner after four years' hard work.

"People are becoming increasingly disillusioned with conventional medicine and questioning the quality of their health care.

"In homeopathy they find a treatment that looks at each person as a unique individual and works with the body and its ability to keep a person in optimum health.

"Homeopathy takes into account the rare and peculiar symptoms that can be difficult to diagnose but which are very real to the sufferer.

"Just some of the ailments I've known treatment to alleviate are: reducing stress and promoting relaxation, improving quality of sleep and helping digestive complaints, and can even be effective with infertility in some cases."

9/10 A REAL treat for your feet!

"Stunning that these quacks get space in the news still. Homeopathy and reflexology are nothing short of witch-doctoring. What next, voodoo?" Philip Crawley, Norwich around 1 year, 3 months ago
