To celebrate the re-launch of Oddbins, a promotional campaign which allows customers to blind taste-test a number of wines and provide a price that they deem reasonable is currently running in the Allerton Road store. The results will be collated from all Oddbins stores, with the average then being calculated, to supply the Customer Recommended Price (CRP), at which the wines will be sold.
We went down to the store on Allerton Road to check it out.
For more information see www.oddbins.com.
UPDATE: The British public, showing a great sense of honesty and fair play, as well as spectacular taste, have deemed that the three wines on offer will cost an average of £8. Rounding the prices off to the nearest 50p, Oddbins will now be charging the Customer Recommended Prices of £8 for the Leyda Sauvignon Blanc, and £8.50 for both the Yering Chardonnay and the Valgrays Garnacha. This closely matches the stores own valuation of between £9 and £9.50 for the three bottles.
