A Liverpool businessman climbed three of the UK's biggest mountains in under 24 hours, all in the name of charity.

Paul Lea, Chairman of Venmore Estate Agents, put his fitness to the test and successfully completed the 'Three Peaks Challenge' in a bid to raise money for Help for Heroes and Commando 999.

Joined by eight other local businessmen from Liverpool's Shop Direct and 10 partially disabled ex-soldiers, Lea managed to raise £9,308.73, but is still hoping to reach his target of £15,000.

In completing the challenge the group climbed Scarfell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon, the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales.

Added to their climbs was 720 miles of driving they completed travelling to each of the mountains.

All involved were honoured to have raised money for two charities who support disabled or injured ex-servicemen or the families of those who have died serving their country.

Mr Lea said: "We are proud to have supported two such extraordinary charities that delivers an incredible service to our troops all over the UK.

"We are so thankful for the support we have received from our families, friends, colleagues and our communities which will help the charities to continue with their noble efforts."

The team are still accepting donations as they look to reach their £15,000 target. You can help them do so at www.bmycharity.com/sdgthreepeaks.
