The UK’s highest free-standing restaurant has unveiled its new head chef – and its mouth-watering new menus.
Parth Bhatt has been promoted to head chef at the Panoramic in Liverpool, which he joined as a chef de partie in 2008.
Parth’s impressive portfolio of jobs includes working for the Berkley Hotel in Knightsbridge under Gordon Ramsey’s protégé Marcus Wareing, the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai, India working under Michelin starred chef Joan Carlo and the Fat Duck in Berkshire which has three Michelin stars.
The restaurant – 350 feet above the Mersey at the top of the West Tower – is gearing up for change all round…
Parth, 27, said: “We have changed pretty much all the dishes on the menu. There is a lot of thought going into the dishes and the portions are bigger. We brought in the changes to build the reputation of the restaurant: we want the customer to have a great meal full of flavour and taste which is good value for money.”
New dishes include rabbit, Shetland scallops, venison and seabass as well as an array of deserts including almond and ameretto ice cream with almond biscotti and fennel ice cream with caramelised puff pastry.
Parth’s vision for the restaurant is to impress customers so much that they keep coming back for more culinary treats: “What I want here is repeat business. I want to ensure that the customer is looked after and that they enjoy the whole experience so they want to come back.
“We have noticed an increase in the number of covers recently, and we want this to continue to grow.”
Parth, originally from India, moved to Liverpool when he was 17 to study business, but switched to a more exciting career path by becoming a chef and training at Roby College in Huyton. He now lives in West Tower, Liverpool where the restaurant is based.
