easyJet celebrated the launch of three new winter routes from Liverpool today (Thursday 16 December) by bringing an interactive 3D ski slope to Clayton Square Shopping Centre.
The low-fares airline entertained Christmas shoppers as customers took a break from battling the crowds to pose ‘inside’ the artwork to create the impression they were skiing into the floor of the centre.
This week easyJet begins operating two of its three new ski routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. A weekly service to Salzburg takes off tomorrow (Friday 17 December) followed by twice-weekly services to Lyon on 18 December and Grenoble on 8 January. All three new ski routes will operate until April.
Ali Gayward, easyJet UK commercial manager, said: “Launching three new ski routes from Liverpool demonstrates easyJet’s commitment to the North West.
“We now offer access to five ski destinations from the city which is great news for the region’s skiers who are seeking an affordable way to hit the slopes this winter.”
Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Peel Airports added: “Winter ski destinations are an important market now for Liverpool John Lennon Airport and we expect these great new additions to the easyJet network from here to prove popular with skiers from across the North West.”
easyJet will also begin operating a six-times-weekly service to Brussels and three-times-weekly services to Gibraltar and Tallinn from Liverpool next year.
Fares on the new ski routes start from £24.99 (one-way including taxes).
