Love was in the air - 100m in the air to be exact - when a record six marriage proposals were made at Liverpool's Panoramic restaurant in one night.
Half a dozen gentlemen chose the stunning fine dining restaurant with panoramic views across the city to pop the question to their other halves.
With its first class service, fine wine and mouth-watering food, it’s no wonder Panoramic, on Brook Street in the city centre, is fast becoming known as the most impressive restaurant in the city.
Andy Patrick, Assistant Restaurant Manager said: "We’re used to people proposing in the restaurant - we usually have at least a couple a week. But we were amazed when six people chose to do it.
"People thinking of proposing usually mention it when they’re booking in to the restaurant, as they will often ask for a quiet table.
"Once we see a couple grinning and talking on their mobile phones, we usually take that as a good sign and send a glass of champagne over.
"Let’s just say on that night the corks never stopped popping."
It isn’t the first time that Panoramic has played host to romantic gestures. Earlier this year one diner hired a plane to fly past the venue pulling along a banner displaying the words, ‘Will you marry me?’ while they ate.
Andy said: "We were delighted to have been chosen as the place where so many people want to make such a romantic gesture.
"We think Panoramic is one of the most special places in the UK - and it’s nice to know our customers do too."
