Threading is a hair removal technique which has become a celebrity favourite in recent years. An ancient art originating from Asia, the beautician uses a piece of cotton thread to remove hairs swiftly from the eyebrow, or anywhere on the face. Unlike waxing, it is much kinder to the delicate skin as it does not remove any skin along with the hairs.
As a “Threading” virgin, I was wary of how painful or effective the treatment would be. Delightfully, the use of cotton to remove the hairs was no more painful than plucking and the results were incredible. Not a single stray hair was left behind and both eyebrows were shaped to superb symmetry that no wax has ever achieved.
My friendly therapist Farhat’s precise hand for delivering flawless shaping extended to careful application of a dark tint to eyebrows and eyelashes. This darker shade gave a stunning highlight to the eyes and, with further application of mascara, proved even more visually effective.
