Customers from all over the North West using Skiddle.com, the events, gig and entertainment website have been digging deep, raising over £1500 for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
In January 2010, Skiddle.com announced they were putting their weight behind CALM, naming them as their chosen charity for 2010. Customers who purchase tickets from Skiddle.com for club nights, gigs and festivals can add an amount to their final order that was passed directly onto CALM, which over the past nine months has so far raised £1518.
CALM is a service of young men for young men that offers help and advice to 15 – 35 year olds experiencing stressful and challenging times, via a helpline and website. This year celebrating its tenth birthday in Merseyside, CALM works to challenge young men’s responses of how they deal with the pressures of life, CALM offers a non-judgemental and non-patronising ear to those who want advice, direction or when you just want to offload to someone.
Simon Howes, CALM’s Development Co-ordinator – Merseyside said: "The generosity of Skiddle’s customers, many of which are the guys we work with day to day is amazing. The pressures on young men to deal with problems on their own is huge and while many think no one will want to hear about their problems, we do.
"It is great to see that not only are young men getting behind a campaign that is theirs, but that with the donations like this we can keep going for another ten years, making sure that when a guy wants to talk, we’re there to listen."
