There really is NO recession so far as the shops at Liverpool One are concerned. The place is heaving! People love somewhere "new" don't they? It's all nice and clean and there is no chewing-gum messing up the pavements (yet).
I wonder how long it will take before the novelty wears off or the vile people who spit gum on the ground make their presence felt?
I am a bit worried about the huge sandstone staircase.... I can't help thinking someone is going to fall or be pushed down that. And the elevated walkways must be a suicide risk too.
Time will tell.
PS: the eateries on in the upper level parade get packed on Saturdays and Sundays... but the best view can be had from the top floor restaurant in Debenhams and you get a great pot of tea (yes a pot!) for £1.50p :-)
