I've just driven past the Liverpool One shopping centre and was not surprised to see my prediction has proved correct.
As a rusult of a glaring dising flaw the main exit from the (soon-to-be-award-winning)car park was jammed because of standing traffic on Strand Street.
Considering the amount of planning that went into the so-called "Big Dig" you would have thought that the road layout would have included a box junction so that traffic does not back-up into the car park!
As it is scores of cars were jamed inside the car park because their exit was blacked by standing traffic waiting at the lights (ironincally stopped to allow out NO buses from the underused Paradise Street bus station.
Yellow cross-hatching needs painting on the road ASAP... otherwise there is going to be the mother of all traffic jams come the Christmas rush!
Talking about "rushing"... I note that in just about the same place there is another glaring error. As drivers enter the underground car park for Liverpool One the sign painted on the road says 10 (mph) while as they cast their glance upward the sign above the entrance says 5mph.
Again, you would think with something as high-profile and expensive as this that they could get it right.
The Duke of Westminster needs to tell them to pull their socks up!
