Looks like being a long COLD one for many people!
I hear whispers that the jobs axe is set to fall in quite a big way at Liverpool "Town Hall".
Could this be the legacy of 2008?!
It's a pity, but the reality is that as a city we simply cannot afford the luxury of so many staff and it is time for a reality check.

There was a big stink kicked-up in the week when some village down South put its Christmas decorations on display. I'm sure the explanation is that there are so many now that they have to start early to get them all up... town hall cut backs and all.
Personally, I don't mind this so much as seeing the supermarket "seasonal" aisle full of selection boxes and Christmas trees, staring in September.
What is really awful is seeing Christmas lights left dangling around the eaves of houses all year long. There should be a law against it!
