I see Billy Connolly is coming to Liverpool January for two nights.... I can't wait!
‘The Man Live’ tour is at the Liverpool Empire on 30th and 31st January 2012... as the man himself says BRILLIANT!
One of the funniest shows I have ever attended was the night I saw Billy at the Empire.
That was back in the 70s, in his banana boots phase, when singing was still quite a big part of his act.
His banana boots are now in the Glasgow Museum... fancy... another piece of history that I can say that I was a witness too!
Anyone who was in the audience that night will remember the Empire Show. He had us literally bursting with laughter... none of us wanted it to end, and yet we were relieved when it did since our sides were aching,.
I don't usually find jokes littered with the F-word funny per se.... but with The Big Yin... he just gets the audience going and they are putty in his hands.... at least they were back then.
I find him amusing on the TV, but I am hoping that in person he is still as side-splittingly funny as he was back then. I can't wait... to find out!
